2 Series F22 is a distinct F22/F23 body branch. A lower-roof two-door body with longer doors and a more overtly sporting brief than the corresponding sedan.
F22/F23 separated the compact two-door cars from the 1 Series name while preserving their longitudinal, rear-wheel-drive architecture. Reference body dimensions are 4,432 mm × 1,774 mm × 1,418 mm on a 2,690 mm wheelbase. Factory figures can vary slightly with bumpers, exterior equipment, homologation method and model year.
