BMW has confirmed that its first fully electric M car will arrive in 2027 and has shown the M Concept Neue Klasse as a preview of its design and technology. BMWBLOG and Bimmerpost call the production sedan ZA0 and a later Touring ZA1, but BMW has not confirmed those codes or exact dates.
What is already known. BMW says the first electric M model will debut in 2027. M Neue Klasse uses four electric motors with wheel-specific torque control, an M-specific control architecture and a performance battery. The M Concept Neue Klasse shows the production direction; BMW M leaders told BMWBLOG the production car will remain close to it.
What specialist sources report. ZA0 sedan production is reported for 2027; ZA1 Touring is a later and less certain derivative. Media output estimates are excluded until BMW publishes certified figures. What remains unknown. Production name, final output, battery capacity, weight, range, charging, performance and price are not announced.
