E60 was the launch sedan of the fifth 5 Series generation, combining an aluminium front structure with the steel passenger cell and a new iDrive-based electronic architecture.
Active Steering, Dynamic Drive, head-up display and xDrive were offered by derivative and market. The 2007 lifecycle update changed styling, cabin controls and the engine range.
